My husband and I enjoyed our week out west a few weeks ago. We saw the beautiful mountains, rivers and wildlife of western Montana (Glacier National Park, Kalispell, White Fish, Hungry Horse, Coram). We discovered huckleberry everything (pie, jam, syrup, etc.). We truly fell in love with this part of the country!
As we were pulled over on a frontage road next to a river, scanning the mountains for wildlife with our binoculars, we witnessed several times how they walk their dogs around here........
The dog was barking the whole time! It was hilarious! Dog walking Montana-style! No leash, either! And, if you are wondering where the "walker" is.....he's following the dog in the pick-up truck!
Beautiful! My Daughter and her husband are trying to move out to MT or ID.
ReplyDeleteWe eventually want to move out there, too, LE's Treasure!
ReplyDeleteHa, they do that dog walking thing out here in E. Oregon too! Beautiful country, Glacier Park holds some of my fondest memories...
ReplyDeleteAhhh, I see.....it's a Northwestern USA thing then! LOL!
ReplyDeleteI have always wanted to go there, we get to yellowstone but need to venture further north. Really pretty pic's.
ReplyDeleteLove,Debbie
We went to Yellowstone a couple of years ago! We loved it there, too!
ReplyDeleteGreat Vacation!!! I can't imagine being that close to what I think was a Buffalo??? Isn't that funny how when you visit a certain area, they a infamous for a certain thing....like the Huckleberry? It brought back memories of when I went to Atlanta, GA, and everything was Peach Tree something or other. Have a Happy Easter.
ReplyDeleteYes, Leianna, that is a buffalo, aka American Bison. We drove though a reserve for them. The buffalo was literally feet from our truck! It was actually scratching it's head on that rock! P.S. The huckleberry is a wild blueberry that can't be "domesticated". They are very good!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could walk my dog that way!!
